Partridge Restaurant

-

Angelle Jacobs Thornton, owner and daughter of the founder of The Partridge Restaurant, is the focus for today’s Small Business Snapshot.

What is the primary purpose of your business?

The Partridge is a restaurant.

What is your business background?

I’m the daughter of the owner as well as an educator with a business degree from Berry College

Why did you return to operating the family business?

I wanted to continue the legacy of my father, John E. Jacobs.

What makes your business unique?

Every day is Thanksgiving at the Partridge! We have been serving southern food in Rome since 1933.

Our building was originally the Gordon Theater, the stage and projection room are still in the building. Roy Rogers and other famous movie stars have been on the stage. Over the years the Partridge has served governors, senators, congressmen, local politicians and celebrities.

More importantly, we have served the community of Rome with homecooked food, prepared fresh every day in our kitchen.

We are continuing the business model began by my dad. Our menus are copied every morning. You circle your choices and turn in your menu.

What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession?
