Suspect arrested in teen’s shooting

-

STOCKBRIDGE — Police have arrested a person in connection with a shooting at a Henry County party that injured a 16year-old girl.

Henry County Police Capt. Joey Smith says 20year-old Richard Andrew Dickerson turned himself in to police over the weekend.

Investigators believe Dickerson shot the girl April 23 at a pool party attended by more than 200 teens.

Before Dickerson surrendered, police already had three people in custody.

The night of the shooting, police arrested 19year-old Kordion Wilson Cousins on a disorderly conduct charge.

The same night, police arrested 19-year-old Dartavious Davis and 18year-old Selah Alin Morgan on reckless conduct charges.

Smith says the girl was in stable condition.

Grandmother: Boy made to hang by belt

CONYERS — A Georgia woman says her grandson’s teacher made him hang by his belt from the top of a chalkboard as punishment.

Tracy Davis tells WSBTV that on Thursday, the principal at Shoal Creek Elementary School in Conyers found her 5-yearold grandson — who has special needs — hanging from a chalkboard.

Davis says DFCS interviewed the boy and learned this wasn’t the first time the teacher had done this. She says the school is investigating.
