‘Quotidian’ exhibit on display at Berry College’s Moon Gallery
“Quotidian,” Berry College Fine Arts’ first art exhibition of the new year, is on display at the Moon Gallery. The exhibit includes work from Michael Marks, Raymond Yeager, Susan Loftin, Edward Ramsay-Morin and Mary and Dan DeFoor. Each featured artist alludes to the theme of the “everyday” in their work — some through traditional approaches such as oil painting — while others use a more contemporary method such as iPad painting. There will be three artist talks during the exhibition. Berry alumni Mary and Dan DeFoor will be speaking about their collaborative work in ceramics at 5 p.m. on Aug. 29. Marks will discuss his interest in “mining virtual environments” at 5 p.m. on Sept. 15. On Sept. 20 at 11 a.m., Loftin will speak on her work ranging from intimately scaled ceramics to room-sized installations. All events are free and open to the public. The Moon Gallery is located on the Berry College campus and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit runs through Sept. 22.
