The Rome Lions Club will meet Tuesday at noon at Red Lobster on Shorter Avenue. Lions Past District Gov. David White of Marietta will speak about the Georgia Camp for the Blind.

Rome Seven Hills Rotary Club will meet Tuesday at noon at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. The program will be presented by outgoing GRSP student Camilla Moreno. She will share her experience at Berry College with the club.

The Rome Area History Museum and the Duke Museum of Military History announce “A Snapshot in Time,” a program on the 100-year anniversar­y of the United States’ entry into

World War I, with an emphasis on the military weaponry developed during this era. Speakers include Leslie Duke, executive director of the Duke Museum of Military History, and local historian Johnny Davis. This free event will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Rome Area History Museum, 305 Broad St. The program will highlight a brief overview of the world conditions that led to the United States’ entry into WWI and Georgia’s role in sending recruits to war, then focus on the technology of modern warfare and how these weapons changed our world. The Friends of the Library’s springtime Paperback Book Sale will be in the Oostanaula Room of the Rome-Floyd County Library on Riverside Parkway. The sale will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All regular-size paperbacks will be 25 cents or 5 for a $1. All oversize paperbacks will be 50 cents or 3 for a $1.

The 29th annual Senior

Inforum will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Thornton Recreation Center at North Floyd Park in Armuchee. The event focuses on resources available to senior citizens. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Charles C. Parker Center. Tickets must be purchased in advance and sell out fast. For questions contact the center at 706-234-0383.
