WEDNESDAY
The Friends of the Library’s springtime Paperback Book Sale will be in the Oostanaula Room of the Rome-Floyd County Library on Riverside Parkway. The sale will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All regular-size paperbacks will be 25 cents or 5 for a $1. All oversize paperbacks will be 50 cents or 3 for a $1.
The 29th annual Senior Inforum will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Thornton Recreation Center at North Floyd Park in Armuchee. The event focuses on resources available to senior citizens. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road. Tickets must be purchased in advance and sell out fast. For questions contact the Charles C. Parker Center at 706234-0383.
THURSDAY
The New Romans Club will hold its next luncheon May 3 at 11:15 a.m. at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. Reservations should be made by Thursday. The Rotary Club of Rome will host a discussion with neurologist Dr. Jay Schecter concerning advances in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease Thursday at noon. The club meets at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave.
The Northwest Georgia Woodturning Club will meet Thursday at the Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road, at 6 p.m. The public is invited.
FRIDAY
The 27th annual Up the Creek Trail and
Century Ride will be held Saturday. Early registration will be held Friday from 2-6 p.m. at Cycle Therapy, 27 Central Plaza. Rideday registration will be held at 6:30 a.m. at the Forum River Center, 301 Tribune St. Rides of 32, 53, 71, 81, 104 and 109 miles will depart at 8 a.m. The Harbin Clinic family trail ride of 5 miles will depart at 9 a.m. For more information visit www.itsyourrace.com.
