Mr. Farris Phillip “Phil” Potts, age 66, of Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in a local hospital.

Mr. Potts was born in Rome, Ga. on April 6, 1951, son of the late Farris Alfred Potts and the late Hazel Anna Lambert Potts. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joy Narmore and Evelyn “Tippy” Rigdon. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Profile Extrusion in Rome for a number of years. He was a member and former local President of the United Auto Workers Union. Mr. Potts was well known for his love of horses and he had a special love for his children and grandchild­ren. He was a member of Doyle Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Debbie Cox, to whom he was married on May 31, 1992; a daughter, Jessica Potts Parks, and her husband, Frankie III, Silver Creek; a son, Tony Potts, and his wife, Cassie, Rome; a stepdaught­er, Kim Lewis, and her husband, James, Ludowici, Ga.; two step-sons, Adam Cox, and his wife, Jennifer, Cedartown, and Johnny Stephens, Rome; a sister, Inell Crumbley, Rome; six grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Earl Vaughn and the Rev. Kenneth Boatner officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Pallbearer­s are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and include Tony Potts, Adam Cox, Johnny Stephens, Wayne Cox, Chad Narmore, Frankie Parks, Lonzo Roberson, and Paul Turner.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangemen­ts.
