UCS announces benefit dinner with NFL guest
From Unity Christian School
Unity Christian School is excited to announce this year’s annual school fundraising event. To conclude their 20-year celebration, the school will host its benefit dinner. Family, friends, and the community are invited to attend this special event on April 2 at the Forum River Center.
This year’s dinner will feature guest speaker Ben Watson, who is the current tight end for the Baltimore Ravens. Watson is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he majored in finance. After an all-SEC senior campaign, he was drafted in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. As a Patriot, Watson was a Super Bowl champion in 2005 and played in the Super Bowl once again in 2007. He continued his successful NFL career by signing with the Cleveland Browns in 2010, the New Orleans Saints in 2013, and the Baltimore Ravens in 2016, which he had career high seasons in each.
Watson is the recipient of multiple award nominations, most notably being his recent nomination for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in which he was one of three finalists. He has also been named one of CNN’s Most Extraordinary People of the Year. Off the field, Watson stays busy with his foundation One More, his growing family, and the NFL Players Association, where he serves on the Executive Committee. He is also an NFL Spokesman for the All Pro Dad Campaign. Watson has also had the opportunity to publish several books as well as travel to speak across the country.
Unity Christian is honored to feature Watson at this year’s annual school fundraising event.
