Broiler/Fryer: National Broiler Market at-a-Glance
For June 21:
Whole broiler/fryer prices are mostly steady. Offerings of all sizes are sufficient approaching the weekend. In the Western region bird sizes are in some instances lighter than desired. Retail and food service demand is moderate. Floor stocks are generally balanced. Market activity is slow to moderate. In the parts structure, tenders, wings, and boneless skinless breasts are steady to firm. Bone in breast are about steady. Dark meat is steady to weak. Supplies of tenders are balanced and moving well; wings and boneless skinless breast are light to moderate with jumbo sizes in the best situation. Legs and leg quarters are available and slow to clear. Market activity for parts is slow to moderate. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mixed but mostly desirable weights.
