The Ridge Ferry Park Farmers’ Market continues through Oct. 17. The market will be closed July 4 and 7, and Aug. 25. The hours are 7 to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Ridge Ferry Park Farmers’ Market Pavilion

The donor with the most points by June 28 will win two tickets to the July 3 Rome Braves game and post-game fireworks show at State Mutual Stadium. Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum will present “Sanctuary at Berry: Wildlife Photograph­y by Gena Flanigen” through Aug. 18. This exhibition explores Berry College’s wild inhabitant­s, including a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. Berry faculty and community members will present lectures on white-tailed deer, the Berry College bald eagles, striped bass spawning and more. Habitat for Humanity Coosa Valley is accepting applicatio­ns for the “A Brush with Kindness” program. The program assists homeowners in Floyd County by painting and performing minor repairs on the exterior of their homes. Applicatio­ns may be picked up at the ReStore, 95 Three Rivers Drive. There is a $10 fee for a background check. Homeowners will be required to make a 10-percent down payment on the estimated cost of the project.

Blood Assurance is seeking O negative blood donations. To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 18 years old (16 and 17 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids, avoid caffeine and to eat a meal rich in iron prior to donating. Floyd County Superior Court Clerk Barbara H. Penson requests that veterans of all military branches of service be sure their DD-214 discharge is recorded at the courthouse. Veterans may record their DD-214 in Floyd County in addition to their hometown, county or state. Bring a DD-214 to the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office, 3 Government Plaza, Suite 101, to have it recorded for Floyd County. This is a free service for all veterans.

The Model Ruritan Club will hold their annual barbecue and Brunswick stew sale on July 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Shannon Scout Hut, 40 Minshew Road, Shannon. The sale includes barbecue plates with sides for $7, barbecue sandwiches for $3, barbecued meat by the pound for $8, Brunswick stew by the bowl for $3, pint for $5, quart for $8 or gallon for $28. The Friendly River Homemaker Club will be offering homemade desserts including cakes, dessert cups and pies from $1.50-$25.

The 33rd Annual Cave Spring Independen­ce Day parade will be held July 4 at 9 a.m. in downtown Cave Spring. Line up will be from 8-9 a.m. All vehicles, floats with wheels and horses line up on Perry Farm Road. Those wishing to walk in the parade should assemble at Joe Hill’s Lawn Mower Shop, 23 Alabama St. Cave Spring United Methodist Church will be selling homemade ice cream.
