The Harbin Hero Hustle 5K and two-mile health walk will be held Sept. 29. Harbin Heroes will be accepting nomination­s for five local charities through July 27. To nominate post the charity’s name to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and include the hash tag #HarbinHero­Challenge. Shares and likes and creating an image with the hashtag and charity will not be counted. The hashtag must be in the text of the post or comment. Only one vote is accepted per Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The charity must be an actively registered 501(c)(3), be based in Floyd, Bartow, Polk, Chattooga or Gordon County and support health, educationa­l or cultural causes. The five charities receiving the most nomination­s will win a $500 donation from Harbin Clinic and will be announced on July 31. Visit Harbin Clinic on Facebook for more informatio­n.

The Gary Tillman Memorial Clock Tower 5K Road Race and TwoMile Health Walk will be held Aug. 18 at 8 a.m. starting at Heritage Park. Registrati­on before July 28 is $25 for the 5K and $20 for the health walk. After July 28 the 5K is $30 and the health walk is $25. Registrati­on closes Aug. 8. Proceeds benefit the Exchange Club of Rome’s Family Resource Center for Child Abuse Prevention. Visit tillmanclo­cktowerrac­e.org to register.

Tickets are now available for the Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at Rome City Auditorium, 601 Broad St. Patron tickets are $75 each and include admission to the pre-event patron party at Forrest Place and reserved seating at the show.
