Few lo­cal con­tests in sur­round­ing coun­ties

Vot­ers in the sur­round­ing coun­ties of Polk, Chat­tooga, Gor­don and Bar­tow will be de­cid­ing sev­eral con­tested lo­cal races Tues­day.

Three of the coun­ties — Polk, Chat­tooga and Gor­don — will weigh in with Floyd and other North­west Ge­or­gia coun­ties in the Dis­trict 14 Con­gres­sional race be­tween Repub­li­can in­cum­bent Tom Graves and Demo­crat Steven Lamar Fos­ter.

Bar­tow vot­ers are in the 11th Con­gres­sional Dis­trict, where Repub­li­can in­cum­bent Barry Lou­d­er­milk is fac­ing a chal­lenge from Demo­crat Flynn D. Broady Jr.

None of the nearby coun­ties have lo­cal bal­lot ques­tions to de­cide.

Polk County

Polk vot­ers will fill the County Com­mis­sion Post 2 seat with ei­ther Repub­li­can in­cum­bent Jen­nifer Lank­ford Hulsey or Demo­cratic chal­lenger Ricky Clark.
