Rome man charged with bat­tery, false im­pris­on­ment

A Rome man was in jail Sun­day af­ter­noon, af­ter an al­ter­ca­tion at his home.

Ac­cord­ing to Floyd County Jail re­ports:

Tri­nard De­shawn Green, 29, of 427 N. Elm Street NW, phys­i­cally re­strained the com­plainant, tak­ing away car keys and not al­low­ing the vic­tim to leave the home. Green then choked the per­son.

Green is charged with felonies false im­pris­on­ment and ag­gra­vated as­sault, as well mis­de­meanor bat­tery un­der the Fam­ily Vi­o­lence Act.

Re­port: Hand­gun stolen from car on Hearth­wood Drive

Po­lice were called to a home on Hearth­wood Drive Sun­day morn­ing in ref­er­ence to a stolen firearm.

Ac­cord­ing to Rome Po­lice Depart­ment re­ports:

An of­fi­cer re­sponded to the re­port of a ve­hi­cle breakin just af­ter 8 a.m. Sun­day where a vic­tim stated that sev­eral items had been taken from her car, in­clud­ing a .40 cal­iber Glock 23 hand­gun.

Also taken was a white leather wal­let con­tain­ing nine credit and debit cards, the vic­tim’s so­cial se­cu­rity card and birth cer­tifi­cate. Blake Sil­vers, staff writer

Re­port: Rome man brings drugs and weapon onto school grounds

A Rome man was ar­rested Mon­day at the Rome Tran­si­tional Acad­emy af­ter po­lice say he know­ingly dis­rupted nor­mal school oper­a­tions.

Ac­cord­ing to Rome Po­lice Depart­ment re­ports:

Jor­dan Glan­ton, 18, of 131 Dodd Blvd., was ar­rested at the Rome Tran­si­tional Acad- emy af­ter he dis­rupted nor­mal school oper­a­tions and then was found with mar­i­juana on his per­son as well as a ra­zor.

Glan­ton is be­ing charged with felony pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana in a pub­lic school, car­ry­ing a weapon on school prop­erty and mis­de­meanor dis­rupt­ing pub­lic school.

Sil­ver Creek man ar­rested dur­ing ex­e­cu­tion of a war­rant

A Sil­ver Creek man was ar­rested Mon­day in con­nec­tion with a theft that oc­curred in March.

Ac­cord­ing to Rome Po­lice Depart­ment re­ports and war­rants:

Perry Otis Still­well, 58, of 178 Reece­burg Road, was ar­rested for break­ing into a res­i­dence on Fred Kelley Road on March 10 and dam­ag­ing the prop­erty in the process. He caused over $500 of dam­age when he tried to re­move cop­per pipe and other items from the home. The vic­tim stated there was over $20,000 of dam­age done and prop­erty taken.

Still­well is be­ing charged with felony crim­i­nal dam­age to prop­erty in the sec­ond de­gree, theft by tak­ing, and a mis­de­meanor crim­i­nal tres­pass charge. He is be­ing held with­out bond at the Floyd County Jail.
