American Legion Post 52 Korean War Veterans and Ladies Auxiliary will

have a barbecue and Brunswick stew sale and

yard sale Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 1205 Calhoun Ave. Barbecue plates include pork, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, pickles and drink for $8. Brunswick stew will be $3 per cup, $5 per pint, $9 per quart or $30 per gallon. Barbecue will be $8 per pound. Proceeds benefit veterans and families in need. The Rome Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Veterans Day with the presentati­on “Gladiators and Warriors of Rome” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rome City Auditorium, 601 Broad St. Veterans

Tickets for the Rome and Floyd County Empty Bowls 16th annual

benefit are now available. The event will be held Nov.

13 from 5-7 p.m. at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive. Tickets now cost $30 and are available for purchase at the Civic Center and at the Rome Welcome Center, 300 W. First St. Cost includes a soup and salad dinner and a bowl created by a local potter. Proceeds benefit Hospitalit­y House for Women.
