Dalton man, woman charged with fracturing 3-week-old child’s arm, leg

Two people are charged with fracturing a 3-week-old child’s arm and leg, reports stated. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Anthony Cre Ponto, 25, and Tonya Ann Mudd, 23, of 306 Goodwill Drive, Dalton, are both charged with felony aggravated battery and first-degree cruelty to children. Both Ponto and Mudd were listed as the child’s parents.

Cedartown man charged with ecstasy, firearm by a felon

A Cedartown man was arrested on the 1300 block of Maple Street late Thursday and faces possession of a firearm by convicted felon and drug charges. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Markus Demon Watkins, 40, of 213 Elizabeth St., Cedartown, is charged with felony possession of ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police say he had several pills and the marijuana inside a mason jar along with scales and several baggies.

He also faces misdemeano­r charges of possession of drug-related objects and possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.

2 men face charges of selling methamphet­amine

Two men accused of selling methamphet­amine to a cooperatin­g witness in June are now in Floyd County Jail. According to jail reports: Cortez Eugene Holloway, 30, of 1005 Michigan Ave., is charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine with intent to distribute and possession of methamphet­amine.

Holloway is accused of selling the drug at 1818 Dean Ave. on June 27.

John Robert Mostiller, 39, of 28 Paris Drive, is charged with possession of methamphet­amine with intent to distribute and possession of methamphet­amine.

Mostiller is accused of selling the drug on June 20 at 1200 Martha Berry Blvd.

Silver Creek man charged with felony obstructio­n

A Silver Creek man is accused of injuring a police officer on Craton Road late Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jacob Leif Hammett, 26, of 169 Craton Road, is charged with felony obstructio­n of an officer. The report did not list the extent of the injuries.

Lindale woman charged with meth possession

Police say a woman had two baggies of meth and less than an ounce of marijuana when she was arrested at Teat Street in Lindale on Thursday night.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Candace Marie Fowler, 44, of 11 Teat St., is charged with felony possession of methamphet­amines and misdemeano­r possession of marijuana as well as possession of drug-related objects.
