The Rome chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness conducts free educational classes about mental illness. Peerto-Peer is a free, eight-week course for adults living with a mental illness who want to learn more about their illness and how to live a fruitful life. Keep” banquet to benefit an academic scholarship program which financially assists and mentors honor students through high school and into college. This year’s event will be held Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. at Lovejoy Baptist Church, 436 Branham Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $45 for adults and $35 for students and seniors, 62 and over. Tickets for children accompanied by an adult can be purchased for $15. Rev. Fred Taylor will be the keynote speaker.
