Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway, will host Pixar co-founder Ed Catmull speaking about creativity at 8 p.m. on Feb. 21. Catmull is president of Pixar & Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disneytoon Studios and has been honored with five Academy Awards including the Gordon E. Sawyer Award for his lifetime of technical contributions and leadership in the field of computer graphics for the motion picture industry. A beginner’s line dance
class will be held at the Charles Parker Senior Center, 1325 Kingston Highway, on Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. This will be the first in a 10-12 week series of classes. Cost is $2 per person. All ages welcome. The Rome TEA Party will hold their Lunch Bunch meeting Tuesday from noon-1 p.m. at Fuddruckers, 595 Riverside Parkway. The meeting will be a planning session to discuss rallies, marches, partnerships and GOP mass meetings and conventions. Come early to order lunch. educational classes about mental illness. Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-week course for adults living with a mental illness who want to learn more about their illness and how to live a fruitful life. Lovejoy Baptist Church will host “A Promise to
Keep” banquet to benefit an academic scholarship program which financially assists and mentors honor students through high school and into college. This year’s event will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Lovejoy Baptist Church, 436 Branham Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $45 for adults and $35 for students and seniors, 62 and over. Tickets for children accompanied by an adult can be purchased for $15. Rev. Fred Taylor will be the keynote speaker. The Rome Hilltoppers
Club will hold their semiannual reunion Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. Lunch will be served at noon followed by a brief program. Cost is $25 each. Reservations must be made before Tuesday.
