Report: Man choked, threatened woman
A Cedartown man was in jail in Floyd County Wednesday with no bond, accused of choking a woman.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Kevin Dewayne Monroe, 25, of 698 Mountain Home Road, was arrested Tuesday evening after an incident in Rome led to the assault of a female victim. Monroe strangled the victim and asked if she wanted to die.
Monroe is charged with felonies aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
Traffic stop leads to felony drug arrests
A pair of Rome residents facing multiple felony drug charges were released from jail Wednesday on bonds.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Brooklyn Nicole Babb, 21, and Jonathan Zachary Jr., 34, both of 312 17th St., were arrested just after 8 p. m. Tuesday after drugs were found during a traffic stop for dark tinted windows.
The driver, Zachary, was found in possession of a bag of cocaine, a jar containing marijuana and a plastic container of cooked marijuana.
On Babb, police found in her possession a bag of heroin, a bag of oxycodone, marijuana and multiple drug related objects.
Zachary is charged with felonies possession of cocaine and possession of cooked marijuana. He is also charged with misdemeanors window tint violation and possession of less than one ounce of
marijuana. He was released on a $5,700 bond.
Babb is charged with felonies possession of heroin and possession of Schedule II oxycodone. She is also charged with misdemeanors possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects. She was released on a $10,100 bond.
Floyd inmate had meth inside jail
A Floyd County Prison inmate is facing felony drug charges after he was found with methamphetamine inside the facility.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Daryl Gene Ankney, 36, of 2211 Chestnut Gap Road in Blue Ridge, was found in possession of 13 individual packages of methamphetamine balls, totaling in 18.2 grams.
Ankney is charged with felonies possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of items prohibited for inmates. He is being held without bond.
