Report: Man tried to steal wool coats from mall

A Lindale man accused of fighting with and stalking two neighbors was in jail without bond Sunday night.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Sekou Nijie Toon, 39, of 209 Grove Ave. in Lindale, is facing two felony counts of aggravated assault, two counts of misdemeano­r stalking and a misdemeano­r charge of criminal trespass.

Toon was arrested Sunday at his home. He’s accused of following the victims to a gas station while recording them, “with the intent to harass,” after an earlier altercatio­n.

A Floyd County man accused of shopliftin­g two coats from a store at Mount Berry Mall was in jail Sun- day night without bond.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Michael Brennan Hyde, 43, of 45 View Drive, reportedly clipped the security sensors off of two wool coats — one valued at $300 and the other at $295 — and attempted to leave without paying the unnamed store at the mall, 2770 Martha Berry Highway.

Hyde is charged with fel- ony shopliftin­g.
