Report: Ellijay man charged with felony child molestation
An Ellijay man is charged with felony child molestation and sexual battery from incidents involving a girl between the ages of 6 and 10 in 2011 and 2015, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
John Siniard Bascom, 36, was released from jail Thursday on an $11,200 bond.

An 18-year-old was being held Thursday pending a $7,900 bond, after she was arrested on warrants for a burglary that took place in November 2019, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Sarah Ashley Sargent, 18, broke a window at Silver Creek Presbyterian Church to enter the building and take more than $500 worth of property.
She is charged with felony theft by taking, second degree criminal damage to property and second degree burglary.

A Rome man is charged with felony criminal damage to property and hit and run after he “totaled” a vehicle at Los Portales on Shorter
Avenue then drove away, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Billy Joe Smith, 29, had an argument with the vehicle’s owner prior to the incident. He caused over $500 in damage and also didn’t have insurance when he was driving.
He is additionally charged with misdemeanor driving without insurance and was being held on a $6,100 bond Thursday night.
Rome man charged with criminal damage
to property
A Rome man was held without bond Thursday after he was arrested on warrants for two earlier incidents, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
On Jan. 30, Tyrell Marquis Wedgeworth, 30, punched the front left window of a vehicle, breaking it and causing around $500 worth of damage.
On Oct. 31, 2020, he kicked a woman’s vehicle and took her cellphone from her car. The incident occurred in front of a young child.
Wedgeworth is charged with felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor theft by taking, cruelty to children in the third degree, second degree criminal damage to property, two counts of contempt of Superior Court, disorderly conduct and a probation violation.

A Rome teen is charged with felony terroristic threats and acts on accusations that she threatened another driver with a knife after a wreck, sources say.

Ashley Nichole Mcneely, 17, was arrested on Wednesday after a car collision on Riverside Parkway at Chatillion Road. She was released on a $5,700 bond Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Alton Zollie Smith, 39, was arrested in his Piedmont Avenue home on Wednesday after police found methamphetamine and a smoking device.
Smith is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects. He was released on a $10,100 bond Thursday.
