4 face traffickin­g charge after search

Rome-floyd Metro Task Force officers arrested two men and two women after searching a home on Fay Street and recovering a large amount of methamphet­amine packaged for sale, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Officers went to 3 Fay St. around 3 p.m. Wednesday and found more than 10 ounces of meth and more than 10 ounces of marijuana, both packaged for sale. They also recovered Xanax, hydrocodon­e, vape cartridges, synthetic marijuana, digital scales, packaging materials and two firearms.

Arrested were Taylor Brooke Owens, 22; Taylor Janet Owens, 22; Bryon Namone Zachery, 41; and Dewayne Titus Daniel Jr., 28, all of Rome.

They are each charged with the felonies possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of meth, traffickin­g in meth, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Other felony charges against each of the four are possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Zachery and Daniel are also charged with felony possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

All four are also charged with misdemeano­r possession of drug-related objects.

Rome teen accused of

child molestatio­n

A 19 year old Rome youth has been arrested following an investigat­ion into acts of a sexual nature that are alleged to have occurred in the spring of 2020. According to jail reports: Joshua Tyreik Anderson, 19, was taken into custody by deputies at a local motel Wednesday.

He is accused of sexual acts against a female under the age of 16 at a location off Old Dalton Road in April or May of last year.

Anderson is charged with felony child molestatio­n, statutory rape and aggravated sexual battery.

He has also been charged with two misdemeano­r counts of willful obstructio­n of officers.

Traffic stop leads to meth and gun

A Rome man and woman were jailed after police discovered methamphet­amine in an automobile they were in. According to jail reports: Hunter Lee Meeler, 21, was driving on Martha Berry Highway when he was stopped by police near Old School Road. Leah Kate Bramlett, 27, was a passenger in the vehicle where the officers found methamphet­amine and a gun.

Both Meeler and Bramlett were charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine and possession of a gun during the commission of a felony.

Meeler was also charged with misdemeano­r driving on a suspended license. The report did not say why he was initially stopped.

Report: Traffic stop turns up meth, marijuana

A traffic stop on Ga. 53 at Burlington Drive resulted in the arrest of a Rome man on felony drug distributi­on charges.

According to jail reports: Timothy Christian Vonbehren, 33, was stopped by Floyd County police while operating a vehicle with an expired license. A search turned up meth, more than an ounce of marijuana, a digital scale and packaging material in the vehicle.

Vonbehren is charged with the felonies possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of methamphet­amine. He’s also facing misdemeano­r charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and driving on an expired license.

Police charge 2 with meth possession

An investigat­ion on Ross Street in North Rome early Thursday morning resulted in the arrest of two men on felony charges of possession of methamphet­amine. According to jail reports: Henry Marvin Wadsworth, 34, and Cody Lee Barron, 31, of Silver Creek were arrested around 5 a.m. Thursday at 114 Ross St. where police recovered a bag of meth and two syringes. Barron also was charged with a felony probation violation.

Both men also face misdemeano­r charges of possession of drug-related objects.

Police: Driver had marijuana, gun

Rome police stopped a vehicle at Glen Milner Boulevard and Second Avenue and recovered a small amount of marijuana, a grinder and a handgun. According to jail reports: Annie Mae Maria Aikens, 37 of Silver Creek, is a convicted felon and police say she knew the gun was in the center console of the car she was driving Wednesday night.

Aikens is charged with the felonies possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. She faces misdemeano­r charges of possession of marijuana and drug-related objects.

Man accused of home invasion, aggravated

A Rome man was arrested Thursday following a home invasion on Atteiram Drive, reports stated.

According to jail reports: Corey Derell Wood, 39, is facing multiple charges after he entered a woman’s home by breaking two windows and chased her with kitchen knives. After leaving the residence, he placed the knives in a nearby garbage bin.

Wood is charged with home invasion in the first degree, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and felony tampering with evidence.

Man charged with felony theft by taking

A Rome man is charged with stealing a vehicle. According to jail reports: Calvin Mander Lowe Jr., 53, was arrested Wednesday after a 2003 GMC Yukon was found in his possession without the owner’s permission. Lowe is charged with criminal trespass and felony theft by taking.

Police: Woman had 3 bags of meth

A woman was arrested in West Rome on a felony drug charge.

According to jail reports: Amy Christina Wilburn, 34, was found late Wednesday with three bags of methamphet­amine on Quiet Acres Road in West Rome. Wilburn is charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine.

Man accused of having

heroin at local hotel

A Rome man was arrested on a felony drug charge at the Economy Inn on Martha Berry Boulevard. According to jail reports: Brooks Coe Crider, 36, was found late Wednesday with heroin in his pockets. Crider is charged with felony possession of heroin.
