Team hands out rings with removable tops

-

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers handed out their Super Bowl LV rings on Thursday, with the gaudy jewelry featuring a removable top encrusted with 319 diamonds — representing their 31-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the title game.

When the top is unscrewed, a hand-engraved image of Raymond James Stadium, the Buccaneers’ home venue, comes into view, surrounded by the scores of Tampa Bay’s playoff wins against the Washington Football Team (31-23), New Orleans Saints (30-20), Green Bay Packers (31-26) and Kansas City.

The inside of the removable top features the word HISTORIC surrounded by: “February 7th, 2021. NFL history was made when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first team to win the Super Bowl at home in Raymond James Stadium”

The crown of the ring also displays two Super Bowl trophies, depicting Tampa Bay’s titles in 2020-21 and 2002-03. Nine emerald-cut diamonds are to the left, representing the point total the Bucs allowed against the Chiefs, and eight emerald-cut diamonds are to the right, emblematic of Tampa Bay’s eight consecutive wins to end the regular season and postseason.

The player’s name and number are on one side, above coach Bruce Arians’ motto, “One team, one cause.” The opposite side shows the 31-9 final score surrounding the Super Bowl LV logo.
