Report: Cash, shoes stolen in armed robbery outside store

A Silver Creek man is charged with armed robbery after he stopped a person outside the Mapleton Shopping Center on Maple Avenue on Nov. 1 and threatened to shoot them if they didn’t hand over cash and their Nike shoes, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Branton Kaden Hughes, 24, stole $90 cash from the person and hit them in the face with the gun. After police ran a background check on Hughes, they found he had been arrested for felonies in the past.

Hughes is additional­ly charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and misdemeano­r battery.

He was bound over to Superior Court for a bond hearing Thursday.

Rome man accused of trying to cause wreck

A Rome man is charged with felony aggravated assault after he intentiona­lly tried to drive someone off the road and cause a wreck, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: On Oct. 15, Michael Anthony Battaglia, 43, was driving down Martha Berry Boulevard near the intersecti­on of Veterans Memorial Highway when he intentiona­lly left his lane and struck another vehicle. This caused the vehicle to partially leave the roadway.

Battaglia also pulled ahead of the vehicle and slammed on his brakes to cause another collision. He is additional­ly charged with misdemeano­r aggressive driving and failure to maintain lane.

He was held without bond Thursday.

Teen arrested at Pepperell High

A Silver Creek teen was arrested at Pepperell High School on Wednesday afternoon on a felony charge of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and misdemeano­r furnishing tobacco products to minors.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Ethan Cole Underwood, 17, had a THC vape and a nicotine vape at the high school. He is additional­ly charged with disrupting the operation of public school.

Underwood was held on a $5,700 bond Thursday.

Cave Spring man charged with aggravated stalking

A Cave Spring man was arrested outside his Heather Circle residence after he reportedly violated a temporary protective order. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Around 3 p.m., Wednesday, Joshua Kent Casey, 44, went to confront a woman he was ordered to stay away from. Casey also had a gun, which made the woman feel uncomforta­ble and frightened.

Casey was held without bond Thursday.

Rome man reportedly attempted to steal parts of a vehicle

A Rome man is charged with felony possession of tools to commit a crime, criminal attempt to commit a felony and misdemeano­r criminal trespass.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Garth Devin Snyder, 40, had a reciprocat­ing saw in his possession when he was arrested outside the Kids Stop Learning Center on Dean Avenue. The saw is often used to steal parts from vehicles.

He was held on an $11,200 bond Thursday.

Woman charged with stalking

A Rome woman is charged with felony aggravated stalking after she reportedly violated a temporary protection order by staying in the home with the protected person. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Jenny Pullum Clementi, 38, was arrested outside her residence on Wednesday morning.

Clementi was held without bond Thursday.

Rome man facing meth charge

A Rome man is charged with felony meth possession and misdemeano­r shopliftin­g after he reportedly stole bandannas and an electric craft burner from the Dollar General on Kingston Highway.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Jordan Shane Franks, 22, also had a small plastic baggie containing a white crystal substance. He confirmed that it was half meth and half epsom salt.

As of Thursday, Franks’ bond hadn’t been set.
