Rome man charged with meth possession

A Rome man was charged with meth possession after an officer reportedly found him with two baggies of suspected meth Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Devin Jake Bishop, 30, is charged with felony meth possession and two counts of probation violation. He was held without bond Wednesday.

REPORT: MAN BROKE POLICE OFFICER’S BODY CAM

A Rome man is charged with false imprisonme­nt after he refused to let a person out of his car Wednesday night, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Charles Humberto Cezar, 39, refused to stop his vehicle to let the passenger exit the car. The passenger opened the car door and left anyway and Cezar continued driving.

An officer saw this and signaled for Cezar to pull over but he initially did not comply. To keep from being placed into the police vehical, Cezar pushed his body into the arresting officer. During the altercatio­n, he broke the officer’s body camera.

He is charged with felony false imprisonme­nt, interferen­ce with government property, obstructio­n of an officer and misdemeano­r willful obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t.

He was held without bond Wednesday.

ROME MAN FACING DRUG CHARGE

A Rome man is facing a drug charge after officers reportedly observed him in possession of methamphet­amine, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Reginald Warren Diamond, 31, tossed a bag of meth in the grass while walking away from deputies. He is charged with felony meth possession. He was released on bond Wednesday.

2 HURT IN TURNER MCCALL CRASH

Two people were injured in a crash after one driver made an illegal left turn at the intersecti­on of Turner Mccall Boulevard and Reservoir Street on Wednesday, reports stated.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

Daryl Contreras made an illegal left turn in his 1992 Ford Mustang and could not see around the stopped traffic. The Mustang was sitting in the middle of the road when a Chevrolet Capita Sport struck the vehicle.

Neither vehicle was drivable and they had to be towed away by wreckers. Both drivers were transporte­d by emergency medical services to a hospital with undisclose­d injuries. Contreras was found to be at fault and cited.

POLICE: MAN HEADBUTTED EX-GIRLFRIEND

A Rome man faces several felony drug charges after he reportedly attacked a prior girlfriend and police found cocaine and pills in his home, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Dalton Clint Hansard, 25, headbutted a prior live-in girlfriend, which gave her a swollen and bruised eye. Later that day, officers executed a search warrant at his house and found butane hash oil, cocaine, THC gummies, mushrooms, Tramadol, Vyvanse, less than an ounce of marijuana and a scale.

Hansard is charged with felony possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of a Schedule IV drug, misdemeano­r battery, possession and use of drug-related objects, pills not in original container and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

He was held without bond Wednesday.
