Rome woman charged with meth traffickin­g

A Rome woman is facing drug possession and drug traffickin­g charges after officers searched her home with a warrant Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

April Deeann Ely, 41, is charged with felony traffickin­g meth, probation violation, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of meth, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. She is also being charged with misdemeano­r possession of drug-related objects and drugs not in original container.

During their search officers found baggies of meth amounting to 28 grams on her nightstand. They also found marijuana, a digital scale, four Xanax pills, more than an ounce of marijuana packaged for sale, and a grinder.

She was held without bond Wednesday.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGE

A Rome man faces drug charges after a traffic stop Wednesday night. According to jail reports: An officer pulled over Thomas Allen Rinker, 31, after he witnessed Rinker driving abnormally. When the vehicle was searched, the officer found THC oil and marijuana in the car and THC wax on Rinker’s person.

Rinker is charged with two counts of felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, misdemeano­r possession of marijuana and possession and use of drugrelate­d objects.

He was held without bond Wednesday.

ALABAMA MAN FACING METH CHARGE

An Alabama man faces a charge of meth possession after a police officer conducted a vehicle search. According to jail reports: Jeremy Lee Nix, 39, is charged with felony meth possession. Officers conducted a search and found suspected meth in Nix’s jacket.

He was held on a $5,700 bond Wednesday.

ROME MAN CHARGED WITH EXPLOITATI­ON OF ELDERLY

A Rome man was arrested on charges of intimidati­ng an elderly person after he reportedly got into a verbal altercatio­n with a man over 65 years old.

According to jail reports: Jackie Lee Hall, 49, screamed at an elderly man and slammed the door in his face. After recounting other outbursts from Hall, the man said this caused him to fear for his safety and expressed that he did not want to return to his residence because he feared Hall may retaliate for reporting to law enforcemen­t.

Hall is charged with felony exploitati­on or intimidati­on of the elderly, and he was held on a $10,000 bond Wednesday.

POLICE: CEDARTOWN MAN HIT SPEEDS OF 115 MPH

A Cedartown man faces fleeing and traffic charges after he reportedly tried to elude arrest Wednesday evening.

According to jail reports: Ayron Damon Adams, 32, fled from a traffic stop at 115 mph and in reckless disregard for other motorists. Adams ran two stop signs and threw a stolen firearm out of the window, all while driving on a suspended license. He then ran on foot into a Walmart and hid in order to avoid arrest.

When searching his vehicle, officers found less than an ounce of marijuana and an open container of Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

Adams is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing a police officer for a felony offence, misdemeano­r driving on a suspended license, two counts of obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t, speeding in excess of maximum limits, two counts of passing in a no passing zone, two stop sign violations, an open container violation, criminal trespassin­g, simple assault, and three counts of cruelty to children.

Officers also arrested him on a February warrant for criminal trespassin­g, accusing him of damaging property at the home of a woman he shares a child with. During the domestic altercatio­n, the woman feared for her and her three children’s safety.

Adams was held without bond Wednesday.

ROME MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION, DUI

A Rome man is charged with drug possession and DUI after a traffic stop Thursday night.

According to jail reports: Jimmy Wayne Roberson, 60, is charged with felony Schedule I drug possession, and misdemeano­r DUI. During a vehicle search, an officer found a vape cartridge with THC oil inside.

Roberson was held without bond Thursday.
