The Floyd County Democratic Party will host a free Nice To Meet You BBQ at Rolater Park in Cave Spring on Saturday, April 9, from noon to 3 p.m., featuring the Democratic candidates for the 14th Congressio­nal District. Food, fun and an Easter Egg Hunt.

MONDAY

The Floyd-Rome Retired Teachers Associatio­n will meet Monday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at the Thornton Recreation Center, 102 N. Floyd Park Road. Registrati­on opens at 10:15. Lunch will be catered. Masks are optional.

THURSDAY

The monthly Georgia’s Rome Art Experience is on Thursday, April 14, at the Rome Area History Center, 305 Broad St. Kids ages 6 and up make origami swans from 4-6 p.m. Cost $5. Silver Creek Presbyteri­an Church, 6 Old Rockmart Road in Lindale will have a community meal at 6 p.m. and worship service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. Both events will be outside.

Lovejoy Baptist and Westminste­r Presbyteri­an will present “The Living Last Supper,” a reenactmen­t with Holy Communion for attendees, on Maundy Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. All are invited.

Silver Creek Presbyteri­an Church, 6 Old Rockmart Road in Lindale will have Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 17, followed by a pancake and sausage breakfast in the fellowship hall. There will also be worship at 11 a.m. All are always welcome.
