Lovejoy Baptist, Westminster Presbyterian join together for The Living Last Supper
At 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, April 14, Lovejoy Baptist and Westminster Presbyterian Churches will present a joint production of The Living Last Supper.
The production will be a reenactment of the biblical event based on the famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. It will be presented in the Fellowship Hall of Lovejoy Baptist Church at 436 Branham Ave. in Rome and will include the serving of Holy Communion to those in attendance. All are invited.
According to Rev. Renee’ Meyer, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian, “Christianity is a faith of the Big Table where all are welcome without exception.”
The cast and crew for the production are affiliated with several churches, and narration will be done by Rev. Carey N. Ingram of Lovejoy and Rev. Meyer of Westminster.
The play is directed by Paul
F. Culotta of Westminster.
The occasion is one of special joy to both Westminster and Lovejoy. For a few years, the two congregations enjoyed an association of fellowship and friendship, but it was interrupted by Covid-19, which prohibited the two churches from inperson worship and activities both within the churches and with each other.
This Maundy Thursday special service will mark the return of the two churches’ association.
