Ms. Carol Joan Cox Everett, age 80, of Rome, GA, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her residence.

Ms. Everett was born in Lindale, GA on June 8, 1942, daughter of the late Clarence Cox, Sr. and the late Addie Pearl Thomason Cox. She was also preceded in death by a sister, June Cox, and by 2 brothers, Roy Cox and Cecil Henderson. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Lindale Manufactur­ing Co. after many years at the Lindale mill. She was a member of Lindale Church of God.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Everett Toles (Clark), Lindale; her son, Greg Everett (Sonja), Lindale; 4 grandchild­ren, Nicole Huckaby (Noah), Lindale, Michelle Everett, Euharlee, Matthew King (Holly), Silver Creek, and Chad Holt (Stacey), Oneonta, AL; 3 great grandchild­ren, Berkley and Asher Huckaby, both of Lindale, and Brooks Holt, Oneonta, AL; 4 sisters, 0D[LQH *ULQGVWDɣ 5RPH Jean Barton, Adairsvill­e, Dot Garrett, Lindale, and Sandra McCain (Bill), Lindale; a brother, Clarence Cox, Jr. (Mary), Rome; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with WKH 5HY -RH\ 0RWHV RɤFLDWing. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until the service hour.

Dr. Llorente was faithfully devoted to the practice of medicine, serving the Rome community for 31 years. In 1973, he opened his private practice while caring for patients at both Redmond Park and Floyd Hospitals. He had great respect for the elderly, and in the 1980s, he served as Medical Director of Riverview Nursing Home and Sun Mountain Nursing Center. Dr. Llorente was especially proud to serve as a team physician to the East Rome Gladiators. He retired from private practice in 2002 and worked within the Centrex Floyd network until fully retiring in 2006. Dr. Llorente was a member of the Floyd-PolkChatto­oga Medical Society, the American Medical Associatio­n, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Internatio­nal Physicians and the American Society of Contempora­ry Medicine.

Ted was a devout parishione­r of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church where he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a most enthusiast­ic member of the handbell choir. He loved gardening, cheering for the Atlanta Braves, listening to big band music and cooking Asian cuisine. He was also a strategica­lly-gifted Mahjong, Mexican Train and Rummikub player.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Catherine Marino, to whom he was married IRU ¿IW\ QLQH \HDUV WZR daughters, Angela Llorente Gemmell (Robert) and Lori /ORUHQWH :DWHUV -LP grandchild­ren, Robert and &DWKHULQH *HPPHOO VLVWHUV Soledad Lopez and Isadora Henderson, and many beloved nieces and nephews located in the U.S., Canada, China and the Philippine­s.

$ IXQHUDO 0DVV RɤFLDWed by The Reverend Father Rafael Ángel CarballoAr­royo and Deacon Stuart Neslin will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:30 am followed by the interment of ashes in the St. Mary’s Memorial Garden. A reception in the parish hall will follow.
