North Rome man charged with stalking, assault

A Rome man was arrested Sunday evening on Woodward Street after kicking in the door of a person he was court ordered to not contact, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Nathan Ernest Thompson, 63, is charged with misdemeano­r simple assault and felony aggravated stalking. He was being held without bond Monday.

EIGHTH AVENUE INCIDENT LEADS TO JAIL

Police found methamphet­amine as well as stolen credit or debit cards on a man after he refused to leave the middle of Eighth Avenue downtown, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Corun Jaron Sellars, 35, is charged with felony possession of meth and possession of three financial cards that did not belong to him. He also ran from police and resisted when officers attempted to place him under arrest.

Sellars is also charged with misdemeano­r obstructio­n, disorderly conduct and pedestrian in roadway. He was being held without bond Monday.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES IN CHUBB ROAD CRUELTY CASE

Three people who were charged last week with cruelty to children in a home on Chubb Road face additional charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Austin Ferris Byess, 47; Albert Foster Byess, 47; and Robin Leighann Smith, 37, are charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals after they failed to provide food for Spike, a shepherd mix dog that was tied behind their house. Spike’s bones were prominent and the dog was treated for starvation.

All three were being held on $10,000 bond as of Monday.

REPORT: SOUTH ROME MAN GRABBED WOMAN BY THE THROAT

A Rome man is charged with aggravated assault and

false imprisonme­nt after grabbing a woman by the throat when she tried to leave the house and pulling her back inside, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Christophe­r Anthony Hill, 29, was arrested after the incident on Nixon Avenue early Saturday morning. He was released on bond Monday.

POLICE: MAN BROKE TERMS OF CONDITIONA­L BOND

A Rome man is charged with aggravated stalking and obstructio­n after going to the property he was court ordered to stay away from, then fleeing from police, reports state..

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Rashad Kente Russell, 27, is charged with felony aggravated stalking as well as misdemeano­r obstructio­n and shopliftin­g. He was being held without bond Monday.

CAVE SPRING DRIVER CHARGED WITH BEING HABITUAL VIOLATOR

A Cave Spring man is charged with felony habitual violator after being observed by police driving on Shorter Avenue on Jan. 6, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Joshua Tristan Thomas, 27, is also charged with driving an unregister­ed vehicle, fleeing or attempting to flee a police officer and not meeting standards for brake lights and signal devices. Thomas remained in jail on $7,900 bond as of Monday.
