Shannon woman charged with entering 14 cars, stealing guns

A Shannon woman was arrested Friday and charged with 14 counts of entering motor vehicles and stealing items, including five firearms, at various locations in Floyd County, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jennifer Gail Johnson, 36, is also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and contributi­ng to the delinquenc­y of a minor. She “abetted and enticed two juveniles” to break into vehicles after transporti­ng them different residences.

Johnson was being held without bond Monday.

TASK FORCE ARRESTS 3 IN DRUG BUST

Three men were arrested late Friday night during the execution of a search warrant at a home on 20th Street and charged with possession of meth, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Donald Ray Whatley, 61; Kerry Lee Garrett, 60; and Jerome Lynn Carter, 60; are all charged with felony possession of meth. Garrett and Whatley are also charged with misdemeano­r possession of drug-related objects.

The men were being held on $7,900 bonds as of Monday.

ROME MAN ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTIN­G

A Rome man was arrested Friday and charged with felony shopliftin­g after stealing $3,022.53 worth of merchandis­e from Walmart on Dec. 18, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Miguel Antonio Columna Rodriguez, 34, has been released on bond.

2 FACING DRUG CHARGES

The Rome Floyd Metro Task Force arrested two men Friday night at a home on Paris Drive and charged them with various drug crimes, reports state.

According to Floyd County Police reports:

Daniel Chessman Smith, 47, is charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, believed to be Tramadol; and misdemeano­r possession of drug-related objects.

Dorsey Newman III, 50, is charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeano­r possession of marijuana.

Both were being held without bond Monday.

POLICE: ROCKMART WOMAN HAD STOLEN GUN

A Rockmart woman was arrested Saturday evening and charged with possession of a stolen firearm during a traffic stop on Lombardy Way, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jaweah Labryn Hamilton, 33, is also charged with misdemeano­r possession of marijuana and running a stop sign.

FLOYD COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION

A Floyd County man was arrested Saturday afternoon on 20th Street and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and drugs not in original container, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Michael Wayne Terry, 41,was being held on $5,000 bond Monday.

W. ROME MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

A West Rome man was arrested on Ga. 1 Saturday afternoon and charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana after he was found with over an ounce of marijuana, plastic bags, a scale and $849 in cash, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Diaunte Devez Mcsears, 31, was also charged with a window tint violation.

ROME MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

A Rome man was arrested Friday afternoon in a wooded area off Tower Road and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Joseph Ray Turley, 30, was being held without bond Monday.

REPORT: $35,000 STOLEN FROM RODEWAY INN

Rome police were called to the Rodeway Inn Thursday morning after the owner reported that approximat­ely $35,000 was stolen from an account since November, reports state.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

The owner of the motel has been collecting paperwork on several incidents of his account being hacked. The owner provided police with the paperwork of the incidents.
