Mr. Joe Casey Holcombe, age 69, of Rome, GA, passed away Sunday, May 28th, 2023, at his home. Mr. Holcombe was born in Rome, GA on June 10th, 1953. He was the son of the late Herman M. Holcombe and the late Marion May Holcombe and was married to Jennie Givens Holcombe. He was employed by the State of Georgia Vocational Rehabilita­tion for 34 years.

Mr. Holcombe’s strong faith was evident in his everyday life. He was an ordained deacon and active church member for many years. A loving husband, caring father, and devoted grandfathe­r, his servant heart and humble spirit touched many and had a lasting impact in the lives of those around him. He will be remembered for his immense love for his family and friends, his unwavering faith, and of course, his award-winning fudge, barbeque, and impressive golf game.

Mr. Holcombe is survived by his wife of 48 years, a son Joel Holcombe (Tonya) of Rome; a daughter Jennifer Maturen (Martyn) of Rome; grandchild­ren Will Holcombe, Ava Holcombe, Bo Bennett, Olivia West, Hannah West, and Mary Katherine West, all of Rome. His favorite mother-in-law, Wilma Givens, also survives.

The family will celebrate Joe’s life with a memorial service at Calvary Baptist Church, 101 Broadus Rd. NE, Rome, GA 30161, at 4 pm on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023. Reception to follow.
