Lindale man charged in Nov. wreck

A Lindale man is facing criminal charges stemming from a November incident when he allegedly caused another vehicle to crash, injuring its occupant, while fleeing police at high speeds, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jordan Shane Franks, 24, is charged with felony serious injury by vehicle, fleeing police officers for a felony offense and misdemeano­r driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, no tag light, failure to obey traffic control devices and driving on wrong side of roadway. He is also charged with felony possession of meth.

The wreck occurred on Shorter Avenue at Chateau Drive on Nov. 11, 2022, around 11 p.m. There was no informatio­n listed about the victim in the wreck. Franks was being held without bond as of Tuesday.

SILVER CREEK MAN ACCUSED OF ATTACKING POLICE

A Silver Creek man arrested Monday evening on the loop near the Armuchee Connector attempted to bite, kick and spit on police officers, reports state. According to jail reports: David Joseph Tatum, 34, was charged with DUI after failing to maintain his lane and admitted to “drinking six shots” before threatenin­g to beat the officers.

Tatum was charged with felony obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t and interferen­ce with government property after he cracked the plastic divider in the patrol vehicle by banging his head on it.

He is also charged with misdemeano­r failure to maintain lane, DUI, making terroristi­c threats, battery and battery on a law enforcemen­t officer. He was being held on $10,000 bond as of Tuesday.

INMATE CHARGED WITH ATTACKING A DISABLED ADULT IN JAIL

An inmate at Floyd County Jail is accused of attacking a disabled adult in jail, “stomping and kicking” and causing a collapsed lung, reports state.

According to jail reports: Terrell Eugene Edmondson, 42, is charged with felony battery, exploitati­on of a disabled adult and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institutio­n as well as misdemeano­r battery. Edmondson was previously charged with stealing a car on Feb. 17.

He remained in jail without bond as of Tuesday.

SUMMERVILL­E WOMAN FACING METH CHARGE

A Summervill­e woman was arrested on Adairsvill­e Highway and charged with methamphet­amine possession and driving under the influence, reports state. According to jail reports: Katharine Nicole Medley, 45, is charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeano­r DUI, following too closely and failure to maintain lane. She remained in jail on $7,500 bond as of Tuesday.

PAIR JAILED AFTER FRACAS ON HARVEY STREET

Two people were charged with attacking each other in a fracas on Harvey Street on Monday evening, reports state.

According to jail reports: Tykeria Rebecca Sams, 20, and Rodney Jermaine Sullivan Jr., 23, are both charged with misdemeano­r simple battery. Sullivan threw Sams’ phone, damaging it, and Sams allegedly threatened to kill him with her car.

Sullivan is further charged with felony criminal damage to property and Sams is

charged with felony making terroristi­c threats.

Both remained in jail on $3,500 bond as of Tuesday.

CEDARTOWN WOMAN CHARGED WITH SHOPLIFTIN­G GENERATOR

A Cedartown woman is accused of attempting to steal a $1,449 Dewalt generator at Home Depot on Monday, reports state.

According to jail reports: Amanda Louise Pugh, 54, is charged with felony theft by shopliftin­g. She remained in jail on $5,000 bond as of Tuesday.

DOG SHOT ON BRANHAM AVENUE

Rome police were called to a home on Branham Avenue on Saturday evening by a woman complainin­g that someone had shot her dog, reports state.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

The woman said her dog, a red-nosed pitbull, had gotten loose and was near the road when a Black man wearing all black with dreadlocks pulled out a pistol and shot the dog in the head. The man then ran towards South Broad Street.

The woman showed officers pictures of the dog’s injury, which were submitted into evidence. The report did not state the condition of the dog.
