English named honorable mention All-american

The award recognizes English as one of the best faceoff specialists in the country for the 2023 season. The Georgetown, Texas, native won 212 of 321 faceoffs taken overall, winning the majority of his faceoffs taken in all but one of Berry’s games this season.

English capped his senior year as the Southern Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year, first-team AllSAA, a four-time SAA Defensive Player of the Week and as a College Sports Communicators At-large Academic All-district honoree. He won a weekly award from the league office six times in his career.
