Police: Rome man kicked in door of home on Maryland Drive, took phone

A Rome man is accused of kicking in the door of a home and taking a person’s $1,000 phone.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Ulric Demond Allen Jr., 29, was arrested Wednesday at an apartment on Maryland Drive, where he caused an estimated $1,200 in damage.

He is charged with burglary in the first degree, felony theft by taking and criminal damage to property. He was being held without bond Thursday on a probation violation.

3 CHARGED WITH HAVING DRUGS, STOLEN HANDGUN

Three men stopped by police on Smith Road early Thursday morning are accused of having suspected high concentrat­e THC oil, marijuana and a stolen gun.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Trayron Marquez, 28, and Tahiri Durand Tolbert, 20, were arrested Wednesday on Smith Road at Manning Lake Road with a stolen handgun, the oil called dab and multiple packages of suspected marijuana labeled “cannabis.”

They are each charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

A third person arrested at the same place, Nicholas Dimitrious Alexander Butts, 31, is facing the same charges — along with failure to maintain a lane, driving without his license in his possession and probation violation.

Tolbert was being held Thursday for Polk County on unspecifie­d charges. Marquez and Butts also were being held with no bond set.

SHERIFF: SEX OFFENDER DIDN’T REPORT NEW CAR

A Floyd County man was jailed Wednesday on a felony charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jason Anthony Moore, 44, of a Walker Mountain Road address was arrested after he failed to report his new vehicle, a red Mercedes, with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office sex offender registry. He was being held without bond Thursday on a probation violation.

ROME MAN FACING METH CHARGE

A Rome man arrested on Auburn Lane is accused of having methamphet­amine in a cigarette pack he was carrying.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stephen Heath Massengale, 51, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony meth possession. He was being held without bond Thursday on a probation violation.

REPORT: NEVADA FUGITIVE HELD IN ROME

A Tennessee man wanted in Nevada was jailed Wednesday evening in Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Tzvi Yehuda Strauss, 20, of Birchwood, Tennessee, is charged with a probation violation and being a fugitive from justice in Nevada. He was being held without bond Thursday.

DELIVERY DRIVER ACCUSED OF ADDING FAKE TIPS

A pizza delivery driver was arrested on warrants charging him with collecting over $300 worth of unauthoriz­ed tips during a period between Feb. 1 and May 3.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Toddrick Rayon Burdette, 43, was arrested Thursday at his home on Edwards Street. He is charged with felony second-degree forgery and misdemeano­r theft by deception.

Warrants state Burdette used a Marco’s Pizza app to add approximat­ely $318 in unauthoriz­ed tips, resulting in a loss to the business owner.
