FRIDAYS

VFW Post 4911, 2632 Cedartown Highway, hosts Bingo every Friday night. You do not have to be a member to play. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the kitchen opens at 6 p.m., and the games begin at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes.

SATURDAYS

United Veterans of the Armed Forces NW Ga. Chapter meets the last Saturday of each month, except May and December, at 9:30 a.m. at American Legion Post 56 at 21 Peachtree St. Veterans of all branches of service are welcome to attend. Contact: 706-266-6200.

The American Legion #506

at 21 Peachtree St. serves breakfast the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Free for all veterans and their family. Donations accepted. There will be a veteran benefits discussion and veterans are encouraged to bring relevant documents.

The Rome Shrine Club is having an ongoing turkey shoot at their club, 109 Bells Ferry Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday thru Dec. 16. $6 a shot. Please come help us support our cause.

The Rome Georgia Mineral Society meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Romefloyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway.

The People’s Union of Georgia meets the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Moe’s Original BBQ, 101 W. First St. in Rome.

DAV Chapter 95 has service officers at the Georgia Department of Labor, 462 Riverside Parkway, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide free counseling and assistance to veterans filing VA claims for their disabiliti­es.
