Learn the secrets of the exhibits at Tellus Museum

- From staff reports

The Rome Mineral Society will present an insider’s view of putting together the mineral exhibits at Cartersville’s Tellus Science Museum on Monday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Makerspace upstairs at the Rome Floyd County Library.

This is part of the monthly meeting of the Rome Georgia Mineral Society and is free to the public.

Tellus Curatorial Director Amy Gramsey will share her stories and experiences of redoing exhibit cases in the museum’s mineral gallery over the last seven years.

The mineral exhibits at Tellus are nationally famous. They include beautiful mineral specimens that have been donated by important collectors, purchased at internationally attended mineral shows, and even collected by museum staff. The talk includes a behind-the-scenes look at how much time, preparation, and hard work goes into updating these exhibits.
