Man accused of threatening his family with a firearm
A Marietta man faces six counts of aggravated assault after pointing a gun at members of his family in Rome and striking his sister on the side of her head with the weapon, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Michael Dewayne Lane Jr., 32, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, misdemeanor battery under the Family Violence Act and reckless conduct around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Lane is accused of threatening his mother, two brothers and two sisters with the gun during the incident at an East 15th Street home.
LINDALE MAN ACCUSED OF ATTACKING GIRLFRIEND
A Lindale man is accused of choking his girlfriend in their home as well as locking her in a room and taking her phone to prevent her from calling 911, reports stated.

The woman also told police that 40-year-old Christopher Clay Barger Sr. told him that he was going to shoot her between the eyes. Police noted a number of red marks on her throat and other injuries to her head.
Barger is charged with felony aggravated assault as well as misdemeanor battery under the Family Violence Act. He also faces felony charges of false imprisonment and terroristic threats and acts as well as misdemeanor obstruction of a 911 call.
TWO ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTING TO STEAL TRAILER FROM HOME
A Rome man and woman are accused of attempting to steal a 2022 Down Dump trailer, valued at $10,000, from a home on Jim Lee Drive on March 6, reports stated.

James John Duncan Jr., 46, and Tera Leann Owens, 44, both of a Morrison Campground Road address, are charged with felony criminal attempt to commit a felony and misdemeanor criminal trespass. They’re both also charged with violating their probation.
SUMMERVILLE MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING FROM DECEASED PERSON’S HOME
A 49-year-old Summerville man is the second person accused of stealing from a deceased person’s property and reselling the items, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Brian Heath Ezell is accused of taking a 2010 Buick Lacrosse
from a property at the 2900 block of Old Summerville Road and selling it for $250. The car belonged to a deceased person who lived there. Ezell is also accused of damaging the home.
He is charged with felony criminal damage to property as well as misdemeanor theft by taking and theft by deception.
Another man, 31-year-old Toby Lance Eden, was arrested last week on accusations of stealing a saltwater pool system and a pool table and selling them for just under $1,000.
ROME MAN ARRESTED ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGE
A 41-year-old Rome man was arrested near the Rock Store at 3403 Kingston Highway on a methamphetamine possession charge Sunday, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Police found a glass pipe in the pants pocket of Patrick Russell Mcmichael as they searched him during his arrest on an outstanding warrant. He is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine as well as possession of drug-related objects and violating his probation.
CALHOUN WOMAN ACCUSED OF PASSING FAKED CHECK
A 42-year-old Calhoun woman is accused of passing a faked check for $632.12 at the A1 Food and Beverage on Burnett Ferry Road in early January.

Alexis Nicole Bowers is charged with felony fraud as well as misdemeanor forgery and theft by deception.
