Man facing local child exploitati­on charges arrested in California

A California man who was placed on Floyd County’s Ten Most Wanted List in January was arrested in California and is facing charges of sexual exploitati­on of children, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Zechariah Thomas Elijah Engdahl, 35, is charged with felony exploitati­on of children and possession of materials depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct.

The charges stem from an incident in 2016 at 55 West Drive in West Rome when Engdahl was found with multiple images depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct.

TASK FORCE SEIZES 10 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA

The Rome-floyd Metro Task Force arrested two people in separate raids Wednesday afternoon, including one man for possession of over 10 pounds of marijuana, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Traceton Gage Timmy Lawrence, 22, is charged with felony drug traffickin­g marijuana. Police found over 10 pounds of marijuana in a residence on Glenrise Terrace. The marijuana was individual­ly bagged and found with digital scales and a firearm.

Traceton Lawrence is also charged with felony traffickin­g marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies.

Around the same time, police arrested a man at a residence on Green Acre Road and found over an ounce of marijuana, Oxycodone and Xanax.

Xavier Martinique Lawrence, 31, is charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana as well as possession of Xanax and Oxycodone.

Xavier Lawrence was further charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony after he was found with two pistols. He is also charged with misdemeano­r possession of drugrelate­d objects and drugs not in original container.

The duo are related, police said, as Xavier Lawrence is the uncle of Traceton Lawrence. Both men remained in jail without bond as of Thursday.

ROME COUPLE CHARGED WITH CHILD BATTERY

A Rome couple are accused of severely beating a child with a belt and punching him on Tuesday at a residence on Chulio Road, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Christophe­r Shawn Johnson, 36, and Hannah Marie Johnson, 31, are charged with felony aggravated battery. Christophe­r Johnson “hit a child in the face multiple times with a closed fist, causing injuries to his ears, cheeks and laceration­s inside his mouth,” as well as “struck the child several times on his buttocks, hips and legs with a belt.”

Hannah Johnson is also accused of hitting the child with a belt, which caused severe marks and bruising.

PAIR CHARGED WITH STEALING MOTORCYCLE

Two people are accused of stealing the motorcycle of a man who had been jailed, from a residence on Old Dalton Road, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Mark Anthoney Williamon, 51, and Chelsea Deate King, 37, are charged with felony theft by taking. They are accused of stealing the 2003 Kawasaki ZX900 valued at $1,600 on Jan. 20.

Williamon remained in jail without bond, and King remained on $3,500 bond, as of Thursday.

NORTH ROME MAN CHARGED WITH FIREARM POSSESSION

A North Rome man is facing a felony gun charge stemming from an incident on Jan. 25 at a residence on Ashland Park Boulevard, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Gregory Ladell Jackson Jr., 23, is charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Jackson admitted to owning the Ruger P-85 9mm firearm in an interview with a detective after a shooting incident. He remained in jail without bond as of Thursday.

REPORT: WEST ROME MAN FLED POLICE STOP

A West Rome man is accused of fleeing police Sunday afternoon on Oakland Avenue, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Abraham Alexander Franciso Pascual, 21, is charged with felony fleeing a police officer, misdemeano­r obstructio­n and reckless driving for running three stop signs. He remained in jail without bond as of Thursday.

EAST ROME MAN CHARGED WITH PROWLING

An East Rome man is accused of prowling outside an Old Cedartown Road residence early Wednesday morning, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Charles Wendell Hicks Jr., 52, is charged with misdemeano­r loitering or prowling for standing outside of a victim’s residence at an “unreasonab­le hour,” which made them afraid.

Hicks was further charged with felony crossing guard lines and possession of drugs by an inmate Wednesday morning when he entered the jail with a glass pipe containing suspected meth residue.

He remained in jail with a $7,900 bond as of Thursday.

SOUTH CAROLINA WOMAN CHARGED WITH DELIVERING DRUGS TO INMATE

A South Carolina woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with conspiring to deliver drugs to an inmate at the Floyd County Prison on Jan. 18, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail Reports:

Reina Aleece Allen, 37, is charged with felony conspiracy to possess controlled substances, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and use of a communicat­ion facility to commit a felony involving controlled substances.

Allen spoke with inmate James Domonique Turner in a recorded phone call and planned to acquire and deliver contraband items to Turner.

She then drove to a Floyd County industrial park where Turner’s assigned work detail was scheduled, to drop off the contraband.

Prison investigat­ors intercepte­d the exchange and caught Allen in possession of 20 oxycodone pills, 58.04 grams of marijuana, 49.22 grams of methamphet­amine, 170 grams of smoking tobacco and two Newport cigarettes.
