Report: Man interrupte­d Uno party with gunfight threat

Arrest warrants have been taken out for a 25-year-old man accused of entering a home on Towers Street and threatenin­g a teen with a pistol.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department reports:

Warrants for felony aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon have been sworn out for Tyrance Jamarr Diamond. He is accused of pushing his way into the residence on Towers Drive around 1 a.m. Monday.

“Diamond walked through the house under the pretense that he was checking on their safety and proceeded to stare (at the complainan­t) in a menacing manner,” the report stated.

He then announced that if any one had an issue with him they could fight him and proceeded to point the pistol at the complainan­t, who said nothing. Diamond appeared to be targeting the only male in the room. Diamond then left, and was locked out of the home after returning several times.

EMPLOYEE ACCUSED OF STEALING $200K FROM GMC VALUE MART

A West Rome woman is accused of stealing a significan­t amount of money over a year long period from a Coosa grocery store.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Olivia Elaine Black, 47, is charged with felony theft by taking. Between March 2023 and March 2024, Black is accused of stealing $230,390 from GMC Value Mart in Coosa and creating fake refund transactio­ns to cover up the missing money.

WOMAN HOSPITALIZ­ED AFTER PIT BULL ATTACK IN EAST ROME

A woman was hospitaliz­ed after a dog attacked her near her home on Flannery Street in East Rome.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

The woman was bleeding profusely when a Rome police officer arrived and began giving first aid. She said she’d been attacked by a brown pit bull with a black collar around 9 a.m. and that the dog had come from the area around East 15th Street.

DRIVER ACCUSED OF STRIKING GUARDRAIL WHILE HIGH ON METH

A Cedartown man, high on methamphet­amine, is accused of striking a guardrail in South Rome and fleeing the scene, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Justin David Bennett Runyon, 30, of Cedartown is charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine as well as misdemeano­r DUI, driving on a suspended license, hit and run and failure to maintain a lane.

Runyon was arrested on Silver Street at Darlington Drive after he struck a guardrail Monday around 9:30 a.m. and fled the scene. He remained in jail Tuesday without bond on a hold from Gordon County Sheriff’s Office.

ARREST MADE IN FLOYD COUNTY PRISON METH DROP CONSPIRACY

A former inmate at the Floyd County Prison is charged with attempting to smuggle methamphet­amine and other drugs into the facility in 2023.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

James Edward Hendrix, 51, is charged with conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and use of a communicat­ion device during that conspiracy.

Hendrix is accused of conspiring with other inmates as well as people outside the prison to procure and deliver the drugs to a location off Minshew Mountain Road on July 9, 2023.

That package contained 25.75 grams of meth, 106.8 grams of marijuana and three pounds of tobacco left to be smuggled into the prison. However, prison security intercepte­d the delivery, which was left under the mowing deck of a tractor, Floyd County Prison Lt. Doug Yochum confirmed.
