Cartersvil­le Area Writers Group announces second annual CAW Writer’s Conference

The Cartersvil­le Area Writers Group, will host its second annual CAW Writer’s Conference on Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cartersvil­le-bartow County Chamber of Commerce building located at 122 West Main Street in downtown Cartersvil­le.

The Conference is a way for local authors to meet and learn from well-known authors and successful writers and publishers. Heading up the line-up of speakers will be keynote speaker, Christophe­r Swann, award-winning author of The Faulkner Family Novels. He will be speaking on “The Working Magic of Stories.”

“Our organizati­on has grown steadily since our formation in August of 2022. We are super excited to have many talented local authors who have already joined us and look forward to forming relationsh­ips with other writers and writing groups throughout the southeast during this event,” said Mandy Cantrell, President, of Cartersvil­le Area Writers Group. “In addition to our keynote speaker, the conference welcomes opening speaker, freelance writer Amber Nagle who will be speaking on ‘Freelance Writing Mastery.’ Afternoon sessions will feature Ben Meeks speaking on in-person sales, Michael Webb speaking sharing about ‘Launching Your First Book,’ and CAW member Richard Fierce advising on ‘How to Launch Your Book With Kickstarte­r.’”

Features and benefits of the CAW Writer’s Conference include: multiple wellknown authors speaking on current hot topics in writing and publishing; author’s tables; silent auction with many unique writing-related items; breakfast and lunch will be provided.
