A Floyd County Sheriff’s Office deputy chased down and arrested an armed robbery suspect who was on their Top 10 Most Wanted list, after the suspect fled a traffic stop on Newland Street Wednesday night, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Chancelor Lamar Crawford, 23, is charged with felony armed robbery, burglary, home invasion, exploitation or intimidation of a disabled adult and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

These charges stem from a Nov. 18, 2023, incident when he entered an apartment on Smith Street and, while brandishing a pistol at a woman in a wheelchair, stole her pocketbook containing $4,000 in cash.

Crawford is also charged with felony aggravated assault for a March 7 incident that appears to have been a gun fight on Reservoir Street.

When police arrived, an officer witnessed 21-year-old Kiante Treyviante Jackson fleeing the area. After a foot chase, the officer found Jackson covering his hand with a hoodie. Police and responding deputies also found a .380 pistol with a bullet missing from the magazine on the ground near Jackson.

A bullet, allegedly fired by Crawford, struck Jackson’s left arm and exited from his left hand. Following treatment at the hospital, Jackson was charged with reckless conduct, discharge of a firearm near a public highway or street and obstruction for this incident.

Crawford is also charged with misdemeanor obstruction for fleeing the traffic stop on Thursday. He remained in jail without bond as of Thursday.
