Local piano students participate in recital
Leigh S. Robison recently presented her students in their spring recital, which was held in the Betty Anne Rouse Bell Recital Hall at Berry College.
Students performing were Oliver Quintero, Kennedy Rayburn, Brianna Hillesheim, Stephanie Washington, Annelise Ashley-Pritchett, Gabby Ward, Abigail Hillesheim, Mateo Quintero, Miranda Lin, Daniel Washington, Joanna Lin, Christian Washington, and Emalee Collins. Duets were performed by Qliver Quintero, Kennedy Rayburn, Annelise Ashley-Pritchett, Mateo Quintero, and Emalee Collins with their teacher. Abigail Hillesheim and Gabby Ward also performed a duet. Trios were performed by Brianna Hillesheim, Abigail Hillesheim, and their teacher; Stephanie Washington, Daniel Washington, and Christian Washington; and Miranda Lin, Joanna Lin, and Mrs. Robison.
Stephanie Washington, Daniel Washington, and Christian Washington were presented certificates for participating in the Shorter University Hymn Festival. Stephanie Washington, Daniel Washington, Christian Washington, Miranda Lin, and Joanna Lin were presented certificates for participating in the RMTA fall recital.
Students who participated in the RMTA Jazz-Pop Festival were also presented certificates; Stephanie Washington (2nd place-late elementary division), Daniel Washington, Christian Washington, Gabby Ward, and Emalee Collins. Oliver Quintero received a certificate for outstanding performance in the spring recital.
The following students who participated in the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival at Berry College were presented certificates of superior rating; Kennedy Rayburn, Annelise Ashley-Pritchett, Gabby Ward, Brianna Hillesheim, Abigail Hillesheim, Stephanie Washington, Miranda Lin, Daniel Washington, Christian Washington, and Joanna Lin. Mateo Quintero received a certificate for an excellent rating. Gabby Ward received her fifteen point gold cup, Stephanie Washington received her thirty point gold cup, and Christian Washington received his forty-five point gold cup.
The Georgia Music Teachers Association Achievement Award for successfully continuing private piano study throughout high school, was presented to Emalee Grace Collins, a senior at Armuchee High School. She was also recognized for being the valedictorian of her class.
