Southfield Christian boys roll by Notre Dame Prep

BOYS BASKETBALL

SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 86, NOTRE DAME PREP 41

The Eagles were led by Noah Rheker with 21 points and Da’Jion Humphrey with 20 points. Rahmon Scruggs added 14 points to help SC to the road win.

Notre Dame was led by Ethan Johnson with 12 points.

The Eagles improve to 14-3 and will wrap up conference play on Friday at Plymouth Christian at 7:30 p.m.

TROY 56, BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 28

Ethan Emerzian scored a game-high 18 points to go with 10 from Brody Parker and eight more from Deanthony Hamilton in Troy’s OAA crossover win.

Troy goes to 14-3 overall. With the loss, Seaholm falls to 9-8 overall.

Troy hosts Oxford for an OAA White Division game on Friday at 7 p.m.

LAKELAND 60, WL WESTERN 40

Lakeland improves to 13-5 overall, 12-2 in LVC action with the win.

The Eagles were led by David Jabiro’s 24 points and Caleb Zureks with 10 points.

Sam Ahern led Western with 11 points. Western falls to 5-12 and 2-11 in the LVC.

WALLED LAKE NORTHERN 53, WALLED LAKE CENTRAL 26

Jesse Lawson Jr netted a game-high 16 points and teammate Alex Klein chipped in with nine more to power Northern.

Jeremy Eppes and Alijah Todd finished with six points each for Central.

Northern improves to 8-9 overall, 6-7 in the LV while Central falls to 6-12.

MADISON HEIGHTS MADISON 58, HAZEL PARK 45

The Eagles were paced by Quinten Jones with 26 points, Anthony Fuller with 10 points and Jalen Logan with eight points.

PORT HURON 57, CLAWSON 51

Leading the Trojans in a losing effort were Trayvon Greene with 23 points and Tristen Perry with 12 points.

NOVI CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 82, LIVONIA CLARENCEVI­LLE 71

Top scorers for NCA were junior Blake Goodman with 35, freshman Johnathan Blackwell with 25 and junior Ethan Cooper with 10.

Jay Ealy and Stephen Evans had 19 and 17 points, respective­ly, to lead Clarencevi­lle.

NCA moves to 11-7 overall, 4- 6 in the MIAC.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

OUR LADY OF THE LAKES 62, DETROIT COUNTRY DAY 36

Brooklyn Robak poured in 25 points, followed by Quinn Robak with 17 more for WOLL.

Country Day was led by Aysia Yokely with 20 points.

WOLL plays nex t Wednesday in district play at Oakland Christian vs Clarkston Everest at 6 p.m.

TROY 47, LAKE ORION 31

Athena Samson led the Colts with 13 points and 18 rebounds and Alyssa Matuza added 11 points. Charlotte Sobotka scored eight and Lauren Gumma had seven points and three assists. Kendal Zeiter had five points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists for Troy.

The Dragons were led by two freshmen in a losing effort — Maddie Ebbert and Kylie Heck — with seven points apiece.

TROY ATHENS 60, ROCHESTER ADAMS 55

Troy Athens avenged a previous loss to Rochester Adams on Tuesday night with a 60-55 victory.

Izzy Crum had 26 points and nine steals for the Red Hawks while Emma Wodwaski had 16 points with eight rebounds.

Adams was led by Lauren Petersmark, who had 16 points. Nicole Claerhout had 15 points and nine rebounds.

SOUTHFIELD A& T 55, BIRMINGHAM GROVES 45

Southfield was led by Cheyenne McEvans with 39 points, five rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Jaylyn Austin added eight points and four rebounds for the Warriors, who finish the regular season at 13-7 overall and 10-2 in the OAA Red, securing at least a share of the league title.

Groves was led by Rachel Sample with 16 and Ellie Ruprich with 12.

ROCHESTER 46, WARREN MOTT 27

Rochester scored a win on Senior Night, besting Warren Mott by a score of 46-27.

Brianna Mazur had 11 points to lead the Falcons, while Megan Lorenzo scored nine.

SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 70, LUTHERAN WESTLAND 38

The Lady Eagles went on the road to beat Lutheran Westland. The Eagles were led by Ti’Syn Callahan who set a school record for points in a game with 46.

Callahan knocked down seven 3-pointers.

The Eagles improve to 10-9 and will wrap up the regular season on Friday when they visit conference opponent Plymouth Christian at 7 p.m.

LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 56, LIGGETT 22

Sabrina Got tschalk scored 17 points to lead the Crusaders to the win over Liggett on Tuesday night. Emily Grulke added 11 points while Melanie Siebert scored 10.

HOCKEY

BROTHER RICE 14, WEST BLOOMFIELD 1

Birmingham Brother Rice opened up regional play on Tuesday with a 14-1 win over West Bloomfield.

The Warriors were led by Matthew Detar, who had four goals, while Ryan Murphy found the net three times. West Bloomfield had its lone goal scored by Dylan Mazur.
