Rock Hall induction ceremony takes place on HBO, online

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s induction ceremony will not be the gala it usually is, but the class of 2020 will still get its props this weekend.

The event was slated for May 2 and then postponed to Nov. 7 before being scrubbed as a live event. Instead HBO has created a two-hour-plus special at 8 p.m. Saturday to honor Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, the Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex and artist managers Jon Landau and Irving Azoff. Guests such as Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Brad Paisley, Ringo Starr, Gwen Stefani, Iggy Pop and others will be featured, giving the inductees their due.

Also part of the weekend are a conversation with Nine Inch Nails at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, via the band’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube Pages, and a virtual Red Carpet Live Stream program hosted by Carrie Keaggan at 6:45 p.m. via the Rock Hall’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages.
