1 bullet kills 2 people, including man who killed himself

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP » A man killed himself with a single bullet that also struck and killed another man in an apartment on Thanksgiving, police said.

Marcus Mackey was dead at the scene in Ypsilanti Township while Reed Carter died at a hospital, the Washtenaw County sheriff’s office said. Both were 22 years old. “I understand that there is often speculation in situations like this. But we now know that this was a very tragic situation where one of the young men committed suicide and in doing so his friend was also accidentally shot, killing them both,” sheriff’s department spokesman Derrick Jackson told MLive.com.
