Stoney creek gets past Clarkston

The Stoney Creek softball team picked up 19-9 and 6-5 wins over Clarkston on Wednesday night.

In the opener, the Cougars piled up 20 hits and scored 15 runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings to earn the victory. Persephone Ballard and Christa Munn each drove in four runs for the Cougars while combining for seven hits. Stefanie Stephens added three hits and three RBI for Stoney.

Clarkston was led by Kaitlyn Ratich, who hit a grand slam and scored a pair of runs. Ella Cady added two hits and two RBI for the Wolves.

In the nightcap, the Cougars won in four innings when the game was called due to darkness. Ballard won the game in walk-off fashion with a tworun double in the bottom of the fourth to give the Cougars the win. She finished with two hits and three RBI in the win.

Keira Tolmie led Clarkston with a hit and two RBI.

Adams sweeps Brandon

The Rochester Adams softball team picked up a pair of wins over Brandon on Wednesday, 8-2 and 7-1.

Sabrina Lee got the win in the opener with 14 strikeouts in the circle. Adams finished with 10 hits at the plate, with Lee picking up three of them.

In the nightcap, Lee again got the win. She struck out five. Lee and Ella McDonald each had two hits in the victory.

Irish win two more

Notre Dame Prep improved to 5-1 on the season with a pair of wins over Flint Powers Catholic on Wednesday.

In the opener, the Irish grabbed a 7-2 win. Ryann Simmonds got the win in the circle with four strikeouts. Elena Schwegman had a pair of hits and scored three times while Jordan Smith had two hits, including her fourth home run of the season. Smith had four

RBI in the contest.

The second game saw the Irish get a 12-0 win in five innings. Ani Wachowiak got the win with three strikeouts and just two hits allowed. Schwegman hit a pair of home runs, giving her four on the season, while driving in a total of five runs. Smith added her fifth home run of the season as well, while Wachowiak had a grand slam.

Libby Myren gut the shoutout in the circle with eight strikeouts. As a team, Clawson had 14 hits. Anna Wilson had a home run and a double in the win, while Lizzie Larkin had two hits and a RBI.
