Fewer vaccine doses received by county this week from state
More than half of Oakland County’s eligible residents ages 16 and up have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine, while 75.7% of seniors ages 65 and up also have been vaccinated with at least the first shot.
Oakland County received 1,170 fewer doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the state of Michigan this week compared to the previous week.
The state distributed 24,960 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Oakland County Health Division this week, including 2,340 Pfizer doses from FEMA. That’s down from 26,130 doses a week ago including the same amount of Pfizer doses from FEMA.
The Health Division will administer the FEMA doses, provided as part of the establishment of Ford
Field as a regional vaccination site, in Pontiac to residents who live in areas with a higher Social Vulnerability Index.
Oakland County Health Division will conduct a dozen COVID-19 vaccine clinics — by appointment only — the week starting Tuesday and running through Monday, April 26, in Farmington Hills, Madison Heights, Novi, Pontiac, Rochester, Southfield and Waterford. The county also is redistributing vaccine to 35 providers this week.
With the pause of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Moderna and Pfizer will be the two vaccines administered this week.
For Pfizer, 18,720 doses will be sent including 10,530 first doses. For Moderna 3,900 doses will be sent including 3,500 first doses.
