St. Mary’s stays unbeaten with win over Detroit Country Day

Baseball

OLSM 14, COUNTRY DAY 4

The Orchard Lake St. Mary’s baseball team improved to 14-0 on the season Monday with a 14-4 win over Detroit Country Day.

Jasen Oliver got the win on the mound with four innings of work and three strikeouts. Jake Dresselhou­se homered and had three hits with two RBI. Jack Crighton had three hits with four RBI, while Ryan McKay also homered and drove in four runs.

LAMPHERE SWEEPS WARREN MOTT

The Madison Heights Lamphere baseball team swept Warren Mott on Monday, 11-4 and 13-3.

The Rams fell behind 3-0 in the opening game, but poured on eight runs over the last two innings. Noah Atherholt had three hit and four RBI to lead Lamphere at the plate, while Jake Malak and Nick Krstich each had three hits. Drew Webster drove in three runs.

In the second game, Mott also took an early lead in the first, but the Rams scored in all seven innings. Jake Malak got the win on the mound and had three hits with three RBI. Atherholf had two hits and two RBI, while Dylan Chargo also drove in two runs.

CLARKSTON SPLITS WITH STONEY

The Clarkston baseball team split a pair of games with Stoney Creek on Monday. The Wolves took the opener 3-2 before the Cougars won the nightcap 4-0.

In the opener, Clarkston Matt Smith and Ben Bacon each had a pair of hits and combined to score the three runs. Bacon struck out eight on the mound over 5.1 innings of work.

Game two saw Sam Case throw all six innings for Clarkston. Ryan Witt had the lone Clarkston hits at the plate.

AVONDALE 10, FERNDALE 0

Auburn Hills Avondale baseball coach Tommy Kurczewski got his 400th victory on Monday in a 10-0 win over Ferndale.

Reece Betts recorded 14 strikeouts in the win on the mound for

the Yellow Jackets.

Softball

STONEY CREEK 7, OXFORD 6

The Stoney Creek softball team held off a late rally from Oxford on Monday for a 7-6 victory.

Christa Munn homered for the Cougars in the victory, while Maddie Laviolette had three hits. Stefanie Stephens and Persephone Ballard each had two hits, while Stephens drove in two runs.

ADAMS 11, UTICA 8

Rochester Adams overcame an 8-2 deficit to pick up an 11-8 win over Utica on Monday.

Adams scored six runs in the sixth, and three in the seventh.

Elizabeth Blaine and Andrea Waack each drove in three runs for the Highlander­s. Waack and Sam Blaine each had three hits for Adams,

while Ella McDonald, Sabrina Lee, Elizabeth Blaine and Gemma Ugorowski each had two hits.

Girls soccer

ANCHOR BAY 3, OXFORD 2

The Oxford girls soccer team was edged by Anchor Bay on Monday, 3-2.

Kayla Casper and Mackie Methner each scored for the Wolves in the loss.

Girls lacrosse

STONEY CREEK 13, ADAMS 3

The Stoney Creek girls lacrosse team rolled to a 13-3 win over Rochester Adams on Monday.

Avary Sacdalan and Sydney LaPrairie each scored four goals to lead the Cougars, while Sarah LaPrairie and Sydney Ostrander each had two goals.
