Baldwin remembered with outpouring of support for family
A GoFundMe set up for one of the victims of the Oxford High School shooting had raised more than $22,000 in just the first hours.
Madisyn Baldwin was 17 years old.
“This beautiful, smart, sweet loving girl was tragically taken from us all today leaving a huge hole in all of our hearts and life’s,” her grandmother Jennifer Mosqueeda said in the GoFundMe, which she set up to cover funeral and medical expenses along with lost income during this period of instense grieving. “This horrific day could never have been imagined or planned for.”
By 10 a.m., more than 300 had donated to the GoFundMe.
An outpouring of support was posted to the page.
“I have no words,” read one comment. My heart is shattered for you.”
Also killed on Tuesday were Hana St. Julian, 14, and Tate Myre, a 16-yearold junior. Eight others were shot and injured, including three students in critical condition. One of the critically injured students died on Wednesday, 17-year-old Justin Shilling, who died at 10:45 a.m. at McLaren Oakland in Pontiac.
Comments shared prayers and shock at the heartbreaking news that has devastated the family and community.
“My daughter and sonin-law would never ask for anything… however I am,” the grandmother wrote. “Please … I’m reaching out to all my friends, family and loved ones for help. I want them to be able to spend time with their other children and family during this time without the worry and responsibilities of work, bills, food and arrangement obligations for their beautiful daughter taken way too soon.
“Anything will help.”
