Tuesday Musicale of Greater Pontiac to host concert fundraiser
Tuesday Musicale of Greater Pontiac will close its season of musical programs with a spring fundraiser, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 13 in Fellowship Hall at the Central United Methodist Church, 3882 Highland Road, Waterford Twp.
The public is invited to enjoy an evening of musical entertainment unlike any other performance and at the same time support local musical talent.
The event will feature Kyle Paoletti, former Tuesday Musicale Dora Dawson award winner and a senior at Oakland University, completing a degree in Music Education.
Paoletti is a member of The Magnificent 7, a group of seven young college percussionists from the Oakland University’s Percussion Studio.
The group will perform and educate the audience about percussion instruments. They will bring marimbas, a glockenspiel, steel drums, and many other instruments to be used in concert. A verbal explanation of their use and a demonstration of how they are used will be a part of the program. This program will be an “up close” introduction to these instruments and perhaps inspire young and old to become better acquainted with the instrument of their choice.
To attend this program, send a check to Hazel Lawrence, 2698 Escondido, Waterford, MI, 48329, and names will be listed for entrance. There are no assigned seating. For more information, call 248-8215246. The program prices are $10 for students and $20 for adults. Refreshments will be served after the performance.
Tuesday Musicale of Greater Pontiac is a member of the Michigan and National Federation of Music Clubs, and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023. For more information, visit www.tuesdaymusicale.org.
