Packages stolen from Amazon van

Someone stole up to 15 packages from inside an Amazon delivery van outside the Griffin apartment complex, 25090 Woodward Ave., on Wednesday. The female driver was delivering packages there about 4:30 p.m. and noticed packages missing when she returned to the vehicle. Police said the van was locked but the driver had left the passenger window partially open. She is getting information on the number of packages and their contents for police investigators. Police are also getting access to surveillance video at the Griffin and expect it will show who stole the packages and how the person got into the Amazon van.

Man arrested after drink-and-dash at bar

A Detroit man resisted bouncers and police after he had $15 worth of drinks and fled O’Toole’s bar without paying.

Police said the man, 28, is already on probation in Farmington and Royal Oak for public intoxication.

Bouncers chased the man as he jumped over the rope line and knocked over three large planters at the bar on Fifth Street about 12:30 a.m. May 7.

“He later stated he didn’t pay for his drinks because his ride was leaving and he didn’t want to miss it,” said Royal Oak police Lt. Albert Carter. “Unfortunately, he became uncooperative with officers.”

The suspect resisted getting in a patrol car, and would not stand up to be booked at the police station.

He is facing misdemeanor charges of defrauding an innkeeper, consuming alcohol in a public place, disorderly conduct, and obstructing police.
